Jimmy “The Whirlwind” White MBE was born in 1962, turned professional in 1980 and fast became “The People’s Champion”. Forever known as the almost ran, losing all 6 of his appearances at the world championships, he captured the hearts of the nation. Although he did win the 2010 World “Seniors” Championship beating his old nemesis Steve Davis.

Still playing on the seniors tour at 51, Jimmy was the first left handed snooker player to record a maximum 147 (and second overall), has won 10 major ranking tournaments and 18 non-ranking tournaments. Scoring a very impressive 318 competitive maximum breaks along the way.

Awarded the MBE in 1999, Jimmy is a true legend of the game, still the “People’s Champion” and an all round lovely bloke.
