James Newell Osterberg Jr is an American singer-songwriter, actor and musician born in 1947. Professional stage name ‘Iggy Pop’, he is the lead vocalist and songwriter of the proto-punk band The Stooges.

Reuniting with the group in 2003, Iggy has also co-written songs with David Bowie, such as “Lust for Life”, as well as producing charted hits including “The Passenger” and “China Girl”. The Stooges were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
