William "Billy" Connolly CBE was born in Scotland, 1942 and is a comedian, musician, actor and producer. More affectionately known as "The Big Yin" originally started his stage career as a folk singer in the band "The Humblebums".
In the 1970s Billy incorporated his folk singing and songs into his comedy performances and has never looked back since.
In the 1990s Billy’s career took a different path when he became a huge star in the USA. Subsequent TV and movie roles followed, establishing him as a very talented actor, achieving roles in "Indecent Proposal", "The Boondock Saints" and "The Last Samurai" to name but a few.
And if this wasn’t enough he has toured the world several times playing sell out comedy shows everywhere he went, including TV specials travelling around Australia and New Zealand.
